REACH Centre Grey Bruce: Caretaker and Benefactor

The REACH Centre Grey Bruce is a local self-funded charity that provides programming to youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our focus is on skill acquisition for independence, meaningful contribution to community and friendship. Started in 2014, the agency serves over 100 individuals a week in our fully accessible facility located in the River District Stop by and check out our learning shop, commercial kitchen, patio, community gardens and amazing program participants!

About the Plants:

Double the Sun Coreopsis (Coreopsis grandiflora) - Perennial

With large, semi-double, bright yellow flowers, this moderately tall sun-loving perennial performs well in hot, dry locations. Removing spent flowers to extend blooming. Deer resistant. Attracts pollinators.

Prairie Splendor (Compact Rose Coneflower Echinacea) - Perennial

This low-growing, compact coneflower produces large, bright rose-magenta flowers that appear earlier than most coneflowers and often rebloom. The flowers are produced abundantly on sturdy, clump-forming dwarf plants that thrive in full sun and average to poor, well-drained soils. 

Blue Ice Blue Star (Amsonia) - Perennial

Forms a dense, compact mound of dark green lush foliage that turns bright yellow in the fall. Foliage is topped in early spring with large clusters of very dark lavender-blue flowers. Excellent cut flowers, mixed borders, or wildflower gardens.
