If it’s romance, you are looking for you can’t go wrong with something sweet and some flowers. It’s a classic for a reason. Why not make it local while you’re at it? Did you know that the River District has a shop that makes their chocolates on site? How about a few cupcakes or cookies or hit it out of the park with a cake for two? We know that some people suffer with allergies and that’s ok, don’t worry about it we have places for that too. As for flowers, go ahead and get those long stem roses if you think they are the best fit but don’t be afraid to get a plant that will stick around a little longer.

Everyone is working so hard, and no one wants to deal with dirty dishes after a valentine’s day meal so plan your dinner out. It doesn’t matter who you are celebrating love day with, head out to one of the many eateries available in the River District. We may be biased but the most romantic restaurants in the city are in the River District. Check out this video for some inspiration!

River District Restaurants

So, flowers and sweets aren’t on your shopping list? You want something a little more tailored for your valentine? The River District offers many shops with everything from clothes to décor, tech accessories and stuff for the littlest valentines.

Romance isn’t for everyone and if it’s not for you then use this time to celebrate other forms of love. Galentine's Day is a new idea commercialized by a popular television show where women celebrate each other and sisterly love instead of the antiquated perception of needing a partner to celebrate with. So go out with your group (safely) and celebrate the love and support you feel for each other. This of course doesn’t need to be only women and can include anyone in your inner circle that you want to share a special day with.

For some, the best way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to focus on self-care. Book yourself a day out in the River District. Get yourself a fresh hair style, a straight shave, have a manicure or pedicure, buy yourself whatever you want because no one knows you better then you know yourself. Pick up a book and treat yourself to a luxuriously long lunch with no interruptions and if quiet is what you’re after book yourself a float, meditation, yoga, or an hour at the golf simulator. It’s your time so spend it how you want and fill your cup with activities that make you happy because the best kind of love is loving yourself.

Time is running out! Plan your Valentine’s Day now and get down to the River District to make it the best one ever.
