The Ginger Press Bookshop started in 1978 as a mail-order business specializing in books about woodworking. Since then we have outgrown two locations to arrive in 1984 at our spacious home in beautiful downtown Owen Sound. The Bookshop features a wide range of cookbooks, children’s books, poetry, fiction, nature guides, and more. Our particular focus is books with a connection to our region–the Grey/Bruce region on the shores of Georgian Bay just a short distance from the remarkable ecosystem of the Bruce Peninsula.

The Ginger Press is an exuberant centre in a thriving literary and creative community. Readers and writers gather in this comfortable environment to exchange ideas, discuss their latest projects and connect over books.
