Our company’s roots can be traced all the way back to 1899. George Menzies formed one of the first insurance agencies in Ontario and eventually merged with Hanbidge & Bowman in 1968. Twenty years earlier, Hank Hanbidge established a local agency and was joined a few years later by Cliff Bowman. Almost 70 years later we’re still going strong.

Our office has been a fixture on Owen Sound’s main street the entire time. A lot has changed in the insurance business over the years but one thing that remains the same is our desire to provide the same personal, professional service that the company was founded on. Customer referrals continue to be our greatest source of advertising!

We are the oldest established locally owned insurance brokerage in Owen Sound and just like our slogan says, we’ve been “doing it right for a very long time”.
