Using felt, fabric, and small beads, handcraft a pair of unique fabric beads that can be threaded on a necklace, keychain, or made into earrings! This is a great craft to take up with winter coming on. There are so many uses for these bright and cheerful beads. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, beads have historical significance and have been used as currency, in meditation and prayer, and to denote social standing or power. Pam has worked in theatre, film, and television costuming for over 40 years. She has specialized in textile design techniques including fabric dyeing, painting, surface embellishments, and fabric manipulation. As a costume dyer and decorator, Pam has worked for CBC, The National Ballet of Canada (Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker Suite, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, Firebird ), The Canadian Opera Company (Madame Butterfly, Norma, The Golden Ass, Idomineo), Livent (Phantom of the Opera), and Mirvish Productions (Miss Saigon, Crazy for You, Mama Mia, The Lion King), as well as a number of feature films and made-for-TV movies.
