STAINED GLASS NOVICE- PICTURE BOWL
This class will teach you how to utilize a mold in your construction. Dating back from the original Louis Comfort Tiffany lamps, a mold has been used to create specific shapes in glass. After you have learned this technique, you will leave with a lovely piece of art you can use every day to gather keys, soaps, or whatever you choose. Please bring your choice of a glass or ceramic bowl (no metal). It should not exceed 6” in diameter or 3” in height. A slightly larger but more shallow bowl would be acceptable. All materials are included, but if you have any scraps or materials you’d like to use up, bring them along. Prequisite: Must be proficient in scoring and breaking glass, grinding, foiling, and soldering. Safety: Closed toe shoes, safety glasses, and a sense of humour are mandatory. You may bring your own safety glasses, or they are available for use from the Centre. If you have an old pair of nicely fitting leather or heat resistant gloves, they will be useful, but not essential. Hand strength and standing for parts of the class is required. YOUR TUTOR Patti DiFlorio. Patti DiFlorio is a passionate and trained stained glass artisan utilizing traditional and classic methods in copper foil and leaded glass designs.
