SEWING - 4 SESSION MENTORED STUDIO CLASS
This 4 session mentored studio class is a great way to increase your sewing skills while pursuing self directed projects of your choice. Under the qualified tutelage of Patricia Campbell of Sydenham Sewing participants will meet each week in a friendly group to work on their own projects, encouraging each other and sharing their skills. Patricia will give technical expertise to each person to ensure their projects progress and are finished successfully. In this environment you can increase your skills at a pace that is comfortable for you. If you want to join a great sewing community and take advantage of GB Arts' fully equipped studio space with a wonderful teacher, then this is for you. EVENING IN APRIL , 5th, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 5:30 - 8:30 YOUR TUTOR Patricia Campbell. In another life, Patricia was a full-time costumer for some of the big Canadian theatre companies, including the Canadian Stage Company, the Canadian Opera Company, Livent and Mirvish, where she made costumes for shows such as The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime and Mamma Mia. Since that time, she has been an instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo. She has kept up her professional-level sewing skills over the years and is now the owner and operator of Sydenham Sewing and Alterations based in Chatsworth. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING Participants need to bring all of the fabric, thread and notions for their projects. If you are unsure of your requirements please send us an email with your questions. You may bring your own sewing machine or serger or you can borrow one from GB Arts. Storage will be available for the month if you want to leave your machine here. ACCESSIBILITY Hand strength and coordination required This class is held in the textile loft and is only accessible by stairs
