Following a series of well-received performances, the Parkwood Jazz Trio returns with special guest Jason Hunter on tenor and soprano saxophone and vocals.
Jason’s extraordinary and engaging talents will be complimented by the dynamic Parkwood Jazz Trio, a unique trio format of two keyboard players and drums. Don Buchanan will also join Jason on tenor saxophone and clarinet for a few special tunes.
The set list will take you from swing standards to latin grooves, introspective ballads and original compositions by Don.

About Jason Hunter:
Jason grew up in Kincardine, where he got his start in big band jazz as a high school student, performing with the Stardust Big Band and the Lighthouse Swing Band.
He pursued the big band jazz interest at McGill University in Montreal, known then for its focus on big band and bebop styles, before earning a Master’s degree in jazz performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he expanded into contemporary jazz and modern improvisation.
During a decade performing in Boston and New York, Jason worked with leading artists including Bob Brookmeyer, George Garzone, Jimmy Heath, Joe Lovano, and Kenny Wheeler. He was also a member of George Russell’s Living Time Orchestra and the Artie Shaw Orchestra, and has appeared on numerous recordings.
In Canada, he has performed with artists such as Michael Bublé, The Temptations, Barry Elmes, Lorne Lofsky, and the Noodle Factory Jazz Orchestra.
