Painterly Printmaking—Gel-plate Monoprints

Saturday, May 17, 2025 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Cost: $45

Monoprint is the most accessible printmaking technique and the best introduction for artists and crafters. When non-toxic and non-perishable alternatives to the old gelatin printing methods were developed, artists finally had a matrix with a sensitive surface that was both easy to clean and ready to print. Now the plates are easily available in arts and crafts stores allowing artists and makers of all skill levels to expand their image-making possibilities. Only 10 tickets are available for this popular 2-hour workshop. Participants will express their creativity on the gel-plate with acrylics, building up their images. They will then learn a couple of techniques for printing the plate. Freedom of expression and exploration of the medium are encouraged. The results of this technique are very rewarding and can easily become part of any artist’s daily practice. Participants will leave with a whole new appreciation of gel-plate mono printing and a small collection of beautiful prints on fine paper. DATES & TIMES Sat may 17th 9 - 11am YOUR TUTOR Paul Hunter.
