In this workshop, we will first needle felt a small mold out of a wool fibres and cover it with netting fabric. Then, we will take a segment of an 'art batt' ( a yummy, textural mixture of carded wools, viscose, silk and sparkly fibres) and needle felt these fibres on our mold. This will create a small, soft, colourful bowl. What could elevate this lovely object to greater heights? Sew random stitches onto the surface with multi-coloured embroidery thread. You may choose to offer your finished vessel as a trinket bowl to a loved one. On the other hand, you might not want to give it up... This is a beginner friendly needle felting project; no experience required. Demonstrations of the basic needle felting techniques will take place throughout the workshop and a step-by-step instructional booklet will be provided. All materials are included and yours to take home. The mold can be reused over and over again! Elizabeth is a certified yoga instructor. For those interested, she will guide students in a seated stretch break. She will teach some helpful stretches to do when immersed in art and craft!
