In this hands-on beginner workshop, you’ll learn how to fuse vibrant glass enamel onto copper using a torch. It’s fast, fiery, and incredibly satisfying. You’ll explore colour layering, sifting, and surface effects while creating sample tiles to build confidence — then move on to finished pieces. By the end of the day, you’ll complete a pair of enamel earrings and/or a pendant (time permitting), finished with sterling silver findings — ready to wear or gift. Shannon has over 20 years experience with the craft since graduating from OCAD. She then studied metalsmithing at the George Brown College and then opened her business Cynosure Jewelry in 2004. For over 10 years Shannon has been a faculty member of the Jewellery Arts program at Haliburton School of Art and Design (HSAD).
