DESCRIPTION

Learn how to draw cartoon people in this two session course! In the first class, we will draw

'stick figures' in a variety of postures. Add ball joints to create mannequin style figures, in

motion! From there, we'll move on to cartoon faces, with different styles of facial features.

In the second class, we'll combine our skills to create simple figures, with clothing. We will play

with more fluid lines for a more comic style look. Then, we'll experiment with different

proportions. How about a very small head and huge body? Or, a tiny body with impossibly long

legs? We'll ink over our favourites and add colour! Hmm, how about some captions, to liven

things up?

Elizabeth will demonstrate drawing techniques throughout the two sessions. Included in the

price of the workshop is an art pen for you to take home for practise! Find your own style of

loose cartoon drawing in this fun, accessible class!

Elizabeth formally studied painting, but would go home at night and spend hours drawing

caricatures of people and strange, little animals. Creating simple line drawings of this kind has

been one of the great joys of her life.
