DESCRIPTION

Spend a mindful morning making a 14', deer hide hand drum. Using traditional techniques you will stretch, string and tune your drum. Learn about the importance of the materials and the significance of the construction methods. Decorative elements like feathers and beads can be added to decorate your drum. This is a very good quality hide and frame that will last you forever. Be prepared for pow-wow season.

No experience necessary, all materials provided.

Kim Raven

Raven is deeply rooted in her Haudenosaunee, Mohawk, Wolf Clan beliefs and traditions. Making and creating traditional indigenous arts has long been a passion she has had the privilege to explore and share with others. Over the years she has learned and developed many of her artisan skills from her grandmother and other family and community members. Sharing her passion for these arts with others, passing the teachings, knowledge and crafts onto the next generations is truly a joy and a privilege to her.
